 Professor James Runciman Denny composed ‘The Leeds Quarters’
for the chimes of Parkinson Tower. The Chimes were Inaugurated
by Her Royal Highness The Chancellor of the University
on the 14th May 1953 at 12 noon. The department is commemorating
the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of Parkinson
Chimes with events, campaigns and publications.
