Leeds Town Hall is transformed into a musical
instrument
Duet
for Town Hall
A
walkie talkie handset is suspended in the vestibule, broadcasting
occasional voices from around the Town Hall. Above statues
of Victoria and Albert, and beyond a grate in the high ceiling,
a bell waits to chime each hour. The front doors let in sporadic
bursts of street noise. The side doors squeak and slam. Between
these and other interruptions the vestibule resonates in silent
anticipation
